Amy Couey is a muralist and painter who has been teaching art to all ages in Chicago since 2007. Skilled in all subjects and mediums, she is a dedicated and disciplined self-taught artist. Amy graduated from The University of Southern Mississippi with a degree in Theater, emphasizing in Scenic Design and Scenic Painting. She was the Scenic Art Apprentice at the Steppenwolf Theatre Company during the 18-19 season. Some of Amy's credits include a Red Award, in part with Aria Group Architects, for her mural design and execution at One Fifty One Kitchen + Bar, from The International Interior Design Association. She was also featured in Restaurant Development and Design Magazine in 2017. Amy loves what she does, especially when designing a community mural for the people of Rogers Park. She designed and painted four murals on each floor in the new affordable housing complex built on the corner of Clark and Estes Ave. Amy is currently painting for the Steppenwolf Theatre Company as Interim Assistant Scenic Charge.
